How to find the right pediatrician for you…
01 — How easy is it to see this provider?
Some practices are very full and it can be weeks to be seen after baby is born and even harder to get in if a child is older. Check with a practice to see if you can see multiple providers in cases of illness.
02 — Do your values align?
We all raise our children differently. That is our right as a parent. Parents should discuss prior to when a child is even conceived or at least before choosing a provider how they want to raise their child. Go in with a plan, confidence, questions, and interview your pediatrician to see if they will respect your choices.
03 — How easy is communication?
This is your kid. You don’t want to run to urgent care with every cough or sneeze, but you don’t always know when to go. Do you have access to your provider via phone or email? Do you have access via an online portal? How quickly can you get in for an urgent appointment?
